Digital Mobile Billboard Company from Watertown, New York Visits Louisiana To Show Support Through Hurricane Aftermath
WATERTOWN, NY – October 30, 2020 – Runningboards Marketing, a digital mobile billboard company based out of Watertown, New York, is driving supportive #LakeCharlesStrong messages throughout southern Louisiana.
Lake Charles, Louisana was hit by Hurricane Laura at the end of August 2020. As the city of approximately 78,000 struggled to get back on its feet in the weeks following, they were hit a second time by Hurricane Delta in early October.
SagamoreHill Broadcasting, the owner of local CBS affiliate KSWL, reached out to Runningboards Marketing seeking to expand their reach to Lake Charles residents as they helped to clean up and rebuild the community. The upstate New York business immediately arranged to send one digital advertising vehicle and driver to assist.
“Our businesses and residents are facing unprecedented challenges right now and we need all the support we can get,” said Jessica Waldrop of CBS Lake Charles KSWL. “The digital advertising vehicle is tremendously helping us to convey as much information as possible to the residents of Southwest Louisiana.”
The supportive advertisements, displayed across three large LED screens, rotated between various #LakeCharlesStrong graphics and other important alerts following the two hurricanes. The goal is to help local residents know where to find the most up-to-date news information, while also providing direction to nearby businesses as they continue to re-open.
Kevin Thompson, a driver for Runningboards Marketing, was one of two drivers sent to work on the one-month campaign that started on October 5th. “It’s total devastation in Lake Charles,” he said. “There’s a lot of clean-up to do and many businesses are destroyed.”
The campaign is set to continue through early November. For more information about Runningboards Marketing, visit runningboardsmarketing.com.
